Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Mahkmudov

5:00 PM ET/4:00 PM CT

Who’s Fighting:

Tyson Fury (34-2-1) “The Gypsy King” has arguably been the face of boxing for nearly 6 years. Fury destroyed American boxing fans’ (aka me) hearts with his Wilder trilogy. He was on top of the world until he ran into Usyk who beat him in two consecutive fights. Now Fury has been “retired” (for the 6th time) for 15 months. There is no doubt he is dynamic in and out of the ring but now that he is 37 years old… how much is truly left?

Arslanbek Makhmudov (21-2) is a giant Russian bear. Literally. The man is almost as big as Fury and he spends his free time actually wrestling bears. I am not kidding. Look it up. As a result of bear wrestling Makhmudov moves like he has had his neck and spine fused. He is the definition of big and lumbering. He has power in his hands but he has loss to the 2 fighters that are in the top 15. He is a great comeback opponent who looks the part.

Why You Should Watch:

It's pretty simple. You are watching to see what Fury has left. There is no doubt that he is slowing down and his legs aren’t what they used to be. He needs to get back into the win column if we are going to end up with a Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury mega fight in the next 12 months. Makhmudov is 6’7 and 260 lbs so this is Fury’s literal biggest opponent. Makmudov can crack so we will see if he can catch Fury or even just push him beyond what this fight should be.

Conor Benn vs Regis Prograis

3:45 PM ET/2:45 PM CT

Who’s Fighting:

Conor Benn (22-1) is the darling of UK boxing right now. Quite the turn around after he spent nearly 2 years sidelined for a PED suspension. He had two mega fights against Chris Eubank Jr, where he ended up winning their most recent class and sending him into superstardom. Now Benn just made news as being Dana White and Zuffa Boxing’s biggest signing to date.

Regis Prograis (30-3) is a former American champion who was known for his dynamic boxing and athleticism. He has come up short against the 3 biggest fights of his career (Josh Taylor, Devin Haney, Jack Catterall). Can Prograis turn back the clock and find his prime?

Why You Should Watch:

We need to find out what Conor Benn is. He is a mega star in the UK but is he a legit title contender in boxing? He has signed up with Dana White’s Zuffa that aims to monopolize boxing. Can Benn put in the type of performance that can make him one of the faces of boxing?
