Japanese Cinco de Mayo Fight Predictions and Split Decision Bets
Predictions
Let’s get straight to it. Who is going to win
Naoya Inoue vs Junto Nakatani
I believe this will be in the running for fight of the year. Nakatani has the skill, power and boxing IQ to push Inoue. Both fighters want to permanently etch their names in Japanese history. Call me crazy but I can see both fighters going down and there being 3+ knockdowns total. In the end I believe Inoue is still THAT GUY and will take control in the back quarter of the fight. Inoue wins by Split Decision in one for the ages.
Oscar Duarte vs Angel Fierro
Duarte is becoming a must follow fighter. I see Duarte scoring a 8-9 round KO to get the win over a very game Fierro.
Armando Resendiz vs Jamie Munguia
I am guessing the general consensus is that Munguia is still a guy to watch. I think Resendiz is the guy in this fight. We are going to see Munguia KOed in the 7th round and Resendiz gets that respect on his name.
David Benavidez vs Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez
Zurdo is going to pose a lot of problems that Benavidez has never faced. Zurdo will win a good chunk of the early rounds. Midway through the fight I expect Benavidez to pick up the pace and start putting together more and more combinations. Zurdo is as tough as they come but he will run out of gas in the late rounds. “The Mexican Monster” David Benavidez becomes a Unified Cruiserweight Champ with a Unanimous Decision win.
Split Decision Bets
At Blurred Vision Boxing, we aren’t going to give you the typical boring betting advice. Gas prices are at an all time high, you can’t afford groceries, we don’t want you throwing away precious dollars. Toss a little scratch on something that will win you big bucks.
Inoue vs Nakatani
Picking a Split Decision bet for a matchup of two of the top 10 Pound for Pound fighters in the world is hard. This fight could go any way. I think the smart move here is to not over think it. Two Japanese fighters fighting for the legacy and love of their country. This fight is going to be bonkers. Lets go with a juicy baby bet over on FanDuel. 3+ Knockdowns in the Fight at +430. Inoue has touched the canvas twice recently, one of those coming against a south paw (just like Nakatani). Inoue is willing to put himself in danger to get the viral knockout. I think we could see Inoue go down early and come back to get a couple knockdowns late against Nakatani.
Benavidez vs Ramirez
You know the name of the game here. What is a big money payout that is actually possible? I think there is one clear one. Over on FanDuel they have David Benavidez to Win the Fight & to Land 300+ Punches coming in at +650. Benavidez is known for his fast hands and throws punches in bunches. In his last fight he landed 159 punches against Anthony Yarde before getting the KO in the 7th round. That would put Benavidez at roughly 23 punches per round. Over 12 rounds that gets us to 272 punches total. The catch is that Yarde was never in that fight. Zurdo is incredibly durable, sturdy, strong and has a gas tank to push Benavidez. Benavidez will need to up his pace even more to get the win which should put him over the 300 punch mark.
